HMD is trying to make its space in the competitive market. They have launched multiple smartphone models and even brought their budget tablets. However, a leak now suggests HMD move to the mid-range market with their new tablet, the HMD Slate Tab.
Lumia Design
The leak is covered by a reputable source NokiaMob. However, the information is not confirmed yet, so it should be taken with a pinch of salt. According to the leak, the HMD Slate Tab will bring a Lumia design. The iconic Lumia design will surely give nostalgia to the fans while bringing a fresh option to the tablet market. The render of the Slate Tab reveals an orange-colored back and a flat frame. There is a single-camera shooter on the rear side, giving a minimalistic look. The flat frame gives this device a unique look.
Leaked Specifications
Since the HMD Slate Tab will focus on the mid-range market, it will also bring better specifications compared to other HMD tablet offerings. The leak reveals that the tablet will have a 10.6-inch IPS LCD with a 2K resolution. For gamers, the display will have a higher refresh rate giving a smoother experience. While the front will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Gizchina News of the week
The camera segment is not something to be impressed about, there will be a single 13MP shooter on the rear. While an 8MP shooter will be present on the front for selfies.
Though. HMD may not compromise on the performance of the Slate Tab. It is said to feature the Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 processor. It is an 8-core processor, with impressive performance. Moreover, the 4nm architecture makes it efficient. The tab will feature 8GB RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage.
HMD Slate Tab will run on a 9,250mAh battery with support of 30W charging. Compared to the competition, the POCO Pad has a 10,000mAh battery and a larger 12.1-inch display. Hence, the battery capacity of the HMD Slate Pad with a smaller display seems to be a good choice.
In the software department, expect the latest Android 14 OS to power the tablet. For connectivity, there will be support for 5G, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6E, and NFC. Other notable features include Dual Speakers, 3 Mics, a PIN Connector, and a 3.5mm jack. Moreover, there is also the support of Stylus Pen, which can be a great addition for users who like to draw or take notes on their tablets.
How the HMD Slate Tab can stand out?
There are many tablets in the market for example the POCO Pad, OnePlus Pad GO, and more. With this competition, HMD may focus on the Lumia design language to stand out. The old fans of Lumia will be delighted to see a device returning with the iconic design. Moreover, the specifications of the tablet are on par with the current competition.
That said, we will keep you informed whenever we have more information regarding the HMD Slate Tab. Hopefully, it will not be too long before the device gets official.
