HMD Skyline Sporting Lumia Design Will Feature This Processor


HMD is keen on bringing new devices into the smartphone market. After the budget-oriented Pulse series launch, the company is moving to the mid-range market. HMD is now working on Skyline, a phone that will bring the iconic Lumia design. Moreover, now we have more concrete details as the phone has surfaced on Geekbench listing confirming the phone’s processor.

Typically, when a smartphone is listed on Geekbench, it is released after a short period. Hence, the launch of HMD Skyline seems imminent. The Geekbench listing reveals that the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor will power the HMD Skyline. It is an 8-core processor that was launched last year. The chip is based on 4nm architecture making it efficient. It is a decent processor that handles day-to-day tasks and moderate gaming. The Geekbench listing for the Skyline reveals a score of 1027 points for single-core and 2857 points for multi-core.

A leak covered by reputable source GSMARENA revealed all the device’s key specifications. According to it, the HMD Skyline will feature an OLED FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The OLED display its punchy colors will surely make it a good choice for multimedia consumption. At the same time, the higher refresh rate is a treat for gamers. The Skyline will have a triple rear camera setup led by a 108MP primary, 8MP ultrawide, and 2MP depth sensor. While on the front, there will be a 32MP shooter for selfies and video calls. In the battery segment, the device will feature a big 4900mAh capacity with fast charging support of 33W.  Lastly, in the software department, it will rock the latest Android 14 OS.

The main highlight of the phone will be its Lumia design language. The leaked render shows the phone in a flat frame with yellow and black color options. It has a unique design and will be a treat for the Lumia fans. We can also see a fingerprint option on the display suggesting it will have an in-display fingerprint scanner. Overall, the device looks like a complete package in the mid-range market that will stand out with its unique design.

The leak has suggested a price tag of €460 roughly translating to 493 USD for an 8/256GB configuration. Hopefully, the company will set a competitive price for the phone, enabling it to establish a strong foothold in the crowded smartphone market.
