Honor is gearing up to introduce a new entry-level smartphone for the Play series dubbed Honor Play 60 Plus. The device appears on a China Telecom website and got the 3C certification. Thanks to that, we have some of the phone’s specifications revealed before the launch. Now, a set of images emerged showing the phone’s look.
Honor Play 60 Plus Specifications Spotted
The Honor Play 60 Plus has a 6.77-inch LCD screen with 1,610 x 720 pixels of resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The images reveal a smartphone with slim bezels and a large bottom chin. We have a punch-hole cutout for the selfie shooter at the top center. Under the hood, the Honor Play 60 Plus features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset. It is an octa-core chipset with 2 x ARM Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and 6 x ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz. It’s a power-efficient chip thanks to its 4nm process technology. Overall, users will be able to enjoy decent performance on modest games, and social media apps will run without issue.
Gizchina News of the week
In terms of optics, we have the basic low-end package. We have a 50 MP main camera and a 2 MP decorative sensor next to it. The selfies are taken by a 5 MP shooter, which isn’t the best for current standards. While the pictures taken with the front camera won’t be the best, we expect this to be enough for video calls and video-conference applications.
12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB Storage
If the selfie camera is modest, the company compensates in other areas. The device will ship with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB or 512 GB of Internal Storage. That’s plenty of RAM and Storage for an affordable smartphone. The device will also come with a huge 6,000 mAh battery and 35W fast-charging support.
The Honor Play 60 Plus runs Android 14 with MagicUI running atop. It measures 166.9 x 76.8 x 8.09 mm and weighs 197 grams. The China Telecom also suggests a base price of CNY 1,500, which converts to $206. Anyway, if it launches outside China, it will certainly cost a bit more. The phone will be sold in the Phantom Black, Wonderland Green, and Moonlight White color options.
While there is no word from Honor, we expect the phone’s announcement to happen soon. The fact that it has been listed by a Chinese carrier suggests its release as imminent.
