Users can now see a preview of the status without clicking on it, which is visible on the right side. The preview thumbnail gives sufficient information so the user can decide if they want to see the update in full or go to the next one.

Moreover, there is polishing done for people who follow channels as well. For those subscribed to channels, status updates are organized horizontally to keep the interface tidy. While the users without any channels will see a vertical list. Those not following any channels will see a vertical list, which now features a redesigned thumbnail for previews.

Status previews were available in previous versions also. However, they obscured the profile photo, giving a hard time to users to recognize the contacts. With the new placement of status preview, WhatsApp is aiming to bring a better experience. Currently, this new redesign is limited to WhatsApp Android beta 2.24.14.2 version. However, it is expected that it will arrive for all users soon in the stable version. What do you think about the new status preview redesign? Let us know in the comments below.
