Nubia is gearing up to present a new gaming smartphone dubbed Red Magic 9S Pro on July 3. With the release drawing near, some fans have been asking themselves which upgrades would be present in the new smartphone. We expect upgrades to justify the new model, and apparently, they will be found in the performance. Today, ZTE gave a big answer to all fans waiting for the release of this new model. It will feature an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8S Gen 3.
Red Magic 9S Pro Confirmed with Overclocked Snapdragon 8S Gen 3
The ZTE-owned brand confirmed today that its upcoming Red Magic 9S Pro will include a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 variant with overclocked Cortex-X4 core. The core will be clocked at 3.4 GHz, a bit more than the standard 3.3 GHz. That does not sound like much, but it will certainly bring some improvements in the performance of demanding tasks. The most notable upgrade is on the GPU as it gets a 10% increase in speed reaching 1 GHz. Shortly after the announcement, the phone appeared on Geekbench. The precise timing suggests this isn’t a coincidence.
Gizchina News of the week
The Nubia Red Magic 9S Pro scored 2,319 points in the Single Core tests and 7,215 in the Multi-Core department. The Geekbench also confirms one variant with 16 GB of RAM and we know it will be of the LPDDR5X RAM standard. The smartphone will also feature UFS 4.0 storage. Red Magic says the phone will be “powered by AI” which for those unaware, is the latest trend in mobile smartphones, powered by the surge of AI chatbots like ChatGPT.
The biggest upgrade will likely be in the processor and the new AI perks. The phone will likely keep the same overall design as the Red Magic 9S Pro, but we wouldn’t discard a new color option exclusive to this variant. It will likely keep the flat build with no camera bumps on the back. Talking about the cameras, they should be identical to the regular Red Magic 9 Pro.
There are a few days ahead of the launch, so we expect more teasers to emerge soon.
