CMF Phone 1

Nothing is gearing to reveal its first mid-range smartphone under its new CMF sub-brand. The device will carry the CMF Phone 1 moniker and will be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC. It effectively confirms the phone in the mid-range segment with 5G connectivity. Other features have also been confirmed such as Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6, and 5G.

Nothing CMF Phone 1 will offer decent mid-range performance with Dimensity 7300

The MediaTek Dimensity 7300 comes with 4 x ARM Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2.5 GHz and 4 x ARM Cortex-A55 cores at 2 GHz for power-efficiency. The chipset also brings an ARM Mali-G615 GPU tuned by MediaTek’s HyperEngine gaming technologies. The processing power is decent for everyday tasks, social media apps, and even moderate gaming with medium to high settings. The Cortex-A78 cores were used in flagships a couple of years ago, so it definitively makes a difference in the performance department. The processor with be paired with either 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM depending on the variant.

Nothing also released a video that shows Zack from the JerryRigEverything YouTube channel and the device’s mainboard. The company will add day by day more components and will spill the beans on the phone’s specifications. That’s an interesting way of revealing its smartphone slowly while keeping the attention towards it.

The CMF Phone 1 has been rumored to sport a 6.7-inch screen with Full HD+ resolution. The phone has a 120 Hz refresh and 2,000 nits peak brightness as confirmed by Nothing itself. The phone will come with at least 128 GB of expandable storage. It will feature a 50 MP main camera at the back with a secondary depth sensor. For selfies and video calls, the phone will include a 16 MP selfie snapper. There will be a 5000 mAh battery with support for 33W fast wired charging. We expect the device to run on Android 14.

The handset will be fully unveiled on July 8 and is expected to start at INR 15,999 ($191) in India. The phone will miss Nothing’s GLYPH LED interface as a measure to reduce its cost and price.
