Losing your hotel key card can be a real hassle! Luckily, there’s a new way for Android users to ditch those plastic cards. Google Wallet now lets you store digital room keys for some hotels.
This means no more bulky cards to carry around. Your phone can unlock your room, gym, pool, or even the elevator! All you need to do is look for the “Add to Google Wallet” option on the hotel’s app, website, or email.
How to Add Hotel Keys to Google Wallet
No more worries about losing your hotel key card! Here’s how to use your Android phone as your room key:
- Look for “Add to Google Wallet” on the hotel’s app, website, or email.
- Tap it and sign in securely.
- That’s it! Your digital key is now saved on your smartphone.
It is worth noting that Google Wallet uses the Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. This is the same tech that is used in the Tap-to-Pay cards. This technology allows swift transaction process since you only need to hold your phone closer to a payment point. Interestingly, the app can do more than just making payments. It can also store scannable bar codes of cards. This allows the user to go without the card since the app is able to store cards.
