Nothing’s sub-brand CMF is focusing on the budget market. Previously, the company launched its accessories including TWS earbuds and more. Today, they have launched their first smartphone: the CMF Phone 1. It is an affordable smartphone that has a unique design element. Let’s check out all the details about the CMF Phone 1 below.
Highlight Of The Phone: Unique Design
The unique highlight of the CMF Phone 1 is its design. At first look, it may resemble a typical smartphone; coming with a pill-shaped camera module on the rear. However, there are visible screws on the back cover. The screws are there for a reason; CMF allows users to easily change the back covers. For example, a user can change the back cover for a new color or in case of damage. The color options for the back include Black, Orange, Blue, and Mint Green.
Moreover, there is also a mounting point at the cover allowing users to attach accessories to their phones. The accessories include a stand, a lanyard, and a card case. This is something that we don’t see in the smartphone market; a unique design language.
CMF Phone 1 Specifications & Features
The CMF Phone 1 features a 6.67″ Super AMOLED display. It has a resolution of FHD+ and comes with a 120Hz refresh rate for a smoother experience. For better visibility in outdoor conditions, the phone has a peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits.
Gizchina News of the week
In the camera segment, the CMF Phone 1 brings a dual shooter setup on the back. It is led by a 50MP primary and a 2MP depth sensor. Unfortunately, there is no ultrawide sensor and this is one of the biggest drawbacks of the smartphone. For selfies and video calls, there is a 16MP shooter on the front.
Powering the phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset. It is an 8-core processor based on a 4nm architecture. The AnTuTu benchmark score for this chipset is around 670K, which is a decent score for a mid-range phone.
Moreover, the phone’s battery also has a big size. It has a 5000mAh capacity that can be charged at 33W. However, there is no wireless charging support on the CMF Phone 1. Moving to the software department, the phone comes with Nothing OS 2.6 based on Android 14. The company promises 2 years of major Android OS updates and 3 years of security updates. CMF Phone 1 comes in different variants, some exclusive to regions. For example, the 6/128 GB variant is exclusive to India and is priced at INR15,999 (~$191). In other markets, the base variant comes with an 8/128GB configuration and is priced at £209 (~$267). The price of the back panel is £29 (~$37) and each accessory costs £19 (~$24). That said, the CMF Phone 1 is a unique budget offering thanks to its user-swappable back panel and accessories.
