Nubia Z60 Ultra To Bring Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version


Nubia has announced that it will be launching a new version of Z60 Ultra in the global and Chinese markets. For those unaware, the Z60 Ultra was released in December of last year. However, the company is refreshing the smartphone with an enhanced processor that they are calling the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is a powerful SoC powering many flagships in the market.  However, when it comes to “extreme-performance” smartphones, companies push all limits. This appears to be the case with the Z60 Ultra, which is now receiving the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version. On the social media platforms, Nubia has officially confirmed that they will be refreshing the Z60 Ultra. Nubia’s poster highlights the 8 Gen 3 Leading Version on the podium, holding a trophy. This suggests that the “Leading Version” of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is the most powerful.

For those wondering what is the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 “Leading Edition”, well it is just an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The overclocked version features a prime Cortex-X4 CPU core clocked at 3.4GHz and boosted 1GHz GPU. Other than that, it is similar to the standard chip which is based on the 4nm architecture ensuring high efficiency.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Edition will be a highlight for heavy users such as gamers, or for users who perform extensive tasks such as video editing. For other users. it may not be a big improvement over the standard processor.

Apart from the overclocked processor, the rest of the specifications may remain the same. To summarize, the Nubia Z60 Ultra comes with a 6.8-inch OLED display. It has a resolution of 1.5K resolution and also has a high refresh rate of 120Hz.

The phone has a triple rear camera setup led by a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultrawide sensor, and a 64MP 3.2x periscope telephoto shooter. Moreover, in the front, there is a 12MP selfie shooter which is under-display making the phone look futuristic. The Nubia Z60 Ultra has a big battery with a 6,000mAh capacity. It supports fast charging of 80W. That said, the Z60 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version will be launching on July 23.
