In today’s Xiaomi launch event, the company announced multiple products. One of the highlighting products is the Xiaomi Mix Flip. This is the first clamshell smartphone from the Chinese company. Design
The design is a big element of a smartphone, and Xiaomi has given a lot of attention to this with the Xiaomi Mix Flip. The rear side of the phone has two camera cut-outs aligned vertically. It gives a sophisticated look with the camera module. But the highlight here is the big cover display. The panel stretches over top rear part of the phone, which makes it decently sized. The big cover display makes the phone look modern and different from the other available clamshell-type phones in the market.
The hand feel of the phone should be comfortable due to its light weight of just 192g. The color options include White, Purple, and Black.

Xiaomi Mix Flip features a 4.01-inch cover display with a 1.5K resolution and 1,600 nits peak brightness. Moreover, it has been protected by the Dragon Crystal Glass for extra durability. When unfolded, there is a larger 6.5-inch screen with a 1.5K resolution. It offers a high refresh rate of 144Hz bringing more smoothness. Furthermore, it has a 1,600 nits peak brightness for visibility in outdoor conditions.
The Xiaomi Mix Flip has a dual rear camera setup comprising a 50MP primary and a 50MP telephoto sensor. The camera on Mix Flip is Leica branded ensuring the high quality of the camera. On the front, there is a 16MP shooter for selfies and video calls.
Moving to the performance, it is powered by the top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. It is a flagship processor offering superior performance. Moreover, Xiaomi has also done some work to keep the temperatures of the phone cooler with a vapor chamber.

The Xiaomi Mix Flip starts at CNY 5,999 (~$825) for the base model comprising 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.
That said, the Mix Flip is a promising clamshell smartphone with a big cover display. Moreover, it also ticks the boxes with a high-performing chipset and a decent battery size.
