For a budget phone, the Oppo A3 Energy Edition surprises with its elegant look. It sports a rectangular camera module housing the camera sensors and the LED flash. The device is thin at just 7.68mm and weighs around 186g. Hence, the smartphone can be used comfortably without strain on the hand. Additionally, the smartphone comes in fancy color options including Purple Crescent, Bamboo Forest Green, and Fog Sea Black. Specifically, the Bamboo Forest Green caught my attention as it is a unique color in this price range.

Specifications & Features

The smartphone features a 6.7-inch LCD panel with HD+ resolution. This is one of the biggest drawbacks of the smartphone as it misses out on a FHD+ panel and hence the quality of the display is not the best in this price segment. Though, the display still has a 120Hz refresh rate. It also has a peak brightness of 1000 nits.

Dimensity 6300 powers the smartphone which is a mid-range chipset. It has 8-cores providing sufficient performance for general usage. Additionally, it is based on 6nm architecture which ensures high efficiency.

Gizchina News of the week

The Oppo A3 Energy Edition comes with a dual camera setup comprising a 50MP primary and 2MP secondary lens. It misses out on an ultra-wide sensor to cut costs. For selfies, there is an 8MP shooter on the front.

The battery is one of the biggest highlights of the smartphones. It features a 5,100mAh capacity battery which should be sufficient for a long backup. Moreover, it can also be charged at 45W speed. The phone runs on ColorOS based on Android 14 OS. For more information, check out Oppo’s official website.

  • Anti-Fall Protective Case: Smartphones typically do not come with a case in the box. However, Oppo is shipping this smartphone with an anti-fall protective case. It has raised corners and provides a better grip.
  • Durability: The phone is  IP54 certified for dust and water resistance. It gives users peace of mind for accidental splashes.

Pricing

Oppo A3 Energy Edition starts at 1,799 yuan which translates to USD 248 for 12/256GB. It is a budget-oriented smartphone that excels in the battery segment. The combination of a big battery, fast charging, low-res display, and a highly efficient processor makes it a battery-oriented smartphone. Other than that, it also has some durability highlights giving it a future-proof experience. However, the lack of a FHD+ display and ultrawide sensor can be a drawback for some users.
