Realme Narzo N61 Announced With Aluminum Body and 5000mAh Battery

Realme is introducing a new member for its budget Realme Narzo N series. The new device is dubbed Realme Narzo N61 and joins the existing Realme N63. As its name implies, the phone sits some slots under the Realme N63 in terms of price and capabilities. The brand focused its attention on building a very durable smartphone. The company made an effort to add seals on the USB port and the card slot. It also added shock absorption to the main circuit board. The phone also has shock absorption to the main circuit board. The combination results in a smartphone with an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance and a TUV Rheinland High-Reliability Certificate.

Realme Narzo N61 – Specifications and Features

The Realme N61 is similar to the Realme N63 in specifications. The smartphone features a 6.74-inch LCD screen with an HD+ panel with a 90 Hz refresh rate and up to 560 nits brightness. The touchscreen can detect your fingers even when wet. As a result, it can be used in the rain. As usual in the budget smartphone market, the Realme Narzo N61 has a 5 MP camera tucked into the waterdrop notch display. Realme brings its “Mini Capsule 2.0” UI to the smartphone. It shows key information at the top row of the screen. The 5 MP camera is a modest pick, but this is a budget smartphone and the camera will be mostly used for video calls or simple selfies.

Camera Setup

The rear camera module brings a 32 MP module on the back. Here is the curious aspect of the smartphone, the rear brings two big holes, but Realme only lists a 32 MP rear camera. There are two possibilities, the first is that we have a decorative sensor, and the second is that the hole is for a super modest depth sensing module. The camera setup is one of the downgrades when we compare this smartphone with the Realme N63 as this one has a 50 MP rear camera.

Gizchina News of the week

Under the hood, the Realme N61 brings the same Unisoc T612. It’s a 6nm chipset with 2 x ARM Cortex-A75 cores and 6 x ARM Cortex-A55 cores. All cores are clocked at up to 1.8 GHz. There is also a Mali-G57 GPU. The phone brings 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of Internal Storage. Users can also expand this storage with a micro SD card and this won’t sacrifice the dual-SIM functionality as the phone brings a triple-slot.

The Realme Narzo N61 draws its power from a huge 5,000 mAh battery with just 10W charging. We’ve guessed correctly, and the charging speed is another downgrade over the Realme Narzo N63. While the N63 has a very good 45W charging, the N61 brings a tad slower 10W charging. The phone has a USB Type-C port and according to Realme, the battery will retain 80% of its capacity after 1,000 charge cycles.

Just like the N63, this is a 4G LTE smartphone. It has Wi-Fi 5 (AC) and Bluetooth 6.0 (LDAC). Another interesting connectivity feature is the 3.5mm headphone jack allowing you to listen to music with headphones featuring the traditional cable.

Pricing and Availability

The Realme Narzo N61 is available on the company’s online store in India data price of INR 7,500. Right now, there is an INR 500 coupon. It brings the phone’s price down to INR 7,000 for the variant with 4GB/64GB. The higher variant with 6GB/128GB is INR 8,500 before the coupon.

This is something of a pre-order as the first actual sales start on August 6 (Tuesday next week). The Realme Narzo N61 comes in Voyage Blue and Marble Black. The device is a modest offering that will compete with the likes of the Redmi and POCO C-series in India. We won’t be surprised if it gets an international launch later with a different moniker.
