Oppo K12x Launched in India With Military-Grade Body

Oppo K12X

Oppo has just introduced the new Oppo K12x 5G in India and it’s completely different from the variant available in China. The new smartphone borrows the design of the Oppo K12 but has some subtle differences. Also, the new phone has a MediaTek chipset and a new set of cameras. It is also way more durable, as it carries the MIL-STD-810 shock-resistance certification.

Oppo K12x Specifications and Features

The Oppo K12x features a 6.67-inch LCD screen with an HD+ resolution and up to 120 Hz refresh rate. According to Oppo, this is the first smartphone in the category with Splash Touch Technology. Whatever this means, it allows you to operate the smartphone with wet hands while the panel is also wet. This is an interesting and useful feature, especially for users of rugged phones in extreme circumstances.

The Oppo K12x boasts the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 with either 6 GB of RAM / 128 GB Storage or 8 GB / 256 GB Internal Memory. The RAM can be expanded virtually, while the storage can be expanded by up to 1 TB via a hybrid dual slot that can fit a micro SD card or a second nano SIM slot. The smartphone has IP54 certification that protects the smartphone from water and dust.

Oppo ensures the Military-Grade Durability

Oppo tested the smartphone for its military-grade durability. The lab tests state the phone survived a 1.4-meter drop on all six sides and four corners onto a marble floor, that’s a nice milestone that ensures its rugged characteristic.

On the back, the phone brings a simple 32 MP f/1.0 main camera alongside a 2 MP depth sensor for the bokeh effect. The selfie shooter is a basic 8 MP module for modest shots and video conferences. Despite its MIL-STD-810 rating, the phone has nothing to do with the bulky rugged smartphones we’re used to. It’s quite sleek and its design is similar to other conventional smartphones from Oppo. One interesting note is that it has 7.68 mm of thickness which makes it a sleek smartphone. Of course, this does not consider the camera bump that protrudes a bit more than that number. The body weighs 186 grams and has a plastic frame on all sides.
