Vivo V40 and V40 Pro Will Launch on August 7

Vivo launched the Vivo V40 in some markets across the world, and now it is ready to deploy the new smartphone in India. The company will also add the Vivo V40 Pro to the event, effectively offering Indian consumers a more complete V40 series. Interestingly, the Vivo V40 Pro is almost a flagship smartphone featuring last year’s MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset at the helm. The non-Pro V40 goes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3.

Vivo V40 and Vivo V40 Pro Key Specifications and Features

The presence of the Dimensity 9200+ in the Pro makes it an interesting device. After all, the use of last year’s flagship SoC gives it a certain advantage over premium mid-range smartphones. It puts the Pro variant some miles ahead of the Vivo V40 and also it’s an interesting upgrade for the whole series that always had mid-range chipsets.

Gizchina News of the week

Both smartphones feature 5,500 mAh batteries with 80W wired fast-charging support. Vivo claims they’re the slimmest in India to pack this kind of punch. Furthermore, the devices will feature 50 MP cameras. The V40 has a main camera and an ultrawide. Meanwhile, the V40 Pro has a 2x optical zoom (50x digital zoom) telephoto sensor using the Sony IMX816 sensor. Both smartphones feature a 50 MP selfie camera and IP68 certification for dust and water resistance.

The Vivo V40 Pro is confirmed in Ganges Blue and Lotus Purple color options. Although the vanilla model is also expected to go with these colors, the info is not clear from Vivo’s teaser website that covers both smartphones.

The V40 and V40 Pro will be interesting smartphones in the premium mid-range category. Judging by the specs they will be notable upgrades over their predecessors. We expect more details to be unveiled in the coming weeks. There is also a Vivo V40 SE, but apparently, it won’t be launched in India at this point.
