Nothing Phone (2a) Plus has launched as a mid-range offering providing an all-around experience with some unique highlights. As with Nothing smartphones, the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus keeps the DNA of the previous smartphones and brings a transparent back design. Nothing is famous for bringing unique design language to their smartphones. Well, the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus is no exception. It has a transparent back cover revealing the internals of the smartphone. It provides a unique look compared to standard smartphones.

Additionally, there is a  Glyph interface which lights up according to different scenarios such as notifcations, phone charging, etc. The combinaiton of the transparent back and LED flashlight of Glyph interface gives the device an aesthic look. The phone is available in two color options including black and metallic grey. For peace of mind, the phone also offers an IP54 rating.

Specifications & Features of Nothing Phone (2a) Plus

Nothing Phone (2a) Plus features a 6.7-inch OLED panel with a resolution of FHD+. It provides a smooth touch experience thanks to the 120Hz refresh rate. The display may not be the brightest in the segment featuring a peak brightness of 1200 nits.

Powering the smartphone is the Dimensity 7350 Pro chipset. This is a chipset from MediaTek coming with 8-cores and is based on 4nm architecture. Previously, the Nothing Phone (2a) used the Dimensity 7200 Pro. For comparison, the Dimensity 7350 Pro chipset is 10 percent faster in CPU and 30 percent faster in GPU performance compared to the 7200 Pro. Moreover, the company has also implemented a liquid cooling system to help the phone get maximum performance without heating up.

The Nothing (2a) Plus comes with a dual-camera setup on the rear side featuring a 50MP primary and 50MP ultra-wide lens. On the front, there is a 50MP shooter for selfies and video calls. The phone has fancy camera features including 4K capture, Ultra XDR, motion capture, and night mode.

The smartphone comes with a big 5,000mAh battery capacity with support for 50W charging. In the same segment, there are devices offering faster charging speed like 90W on the POCO F6. Though, 50W is not the slowest either. Nothing has also added a battery health feature that helps users check the status of the battery.

Coming to the software, the phone rocks NothingOS based on Android 14. The custom NothingOS has some interesting features. For example, there is a News Reporter Widget that reads news featuring the voice of  Nothing CFO Tim Holbrow. NothingOS also integrates ChatGPT enhancing the user experience.

Pricing

Nothing Phone (2a) Plus

Nothing Phone (2a) Plus with 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage costs $399/£399 for the US and UK markets. Meanwhile, in the Indian market, the phone costs INR 27,999 ($334) for the 8/256GB variant. and INR 29,999 ($358) for the 12/256GB variant.

The phone will be offered in London on August 3. While, the US and India will get the phone from August 7. Availability in other regions is not confirmed yet.
