Motorola Edge 50 Launched in India


Motorola has launched its new smartphone in India: the Motorola Edge 50. The company already introduced the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion and Pro smartphones, and now it’s time for the new phone in the series. Let’s check out all the details of the Indian version of Motorola Edge 50 below.

The vanilla Edge 50 looks similar to the other phones in the lineup. It has a boxy camera module on the top-left side of the smartphone. There is Motorola branding at the center of the phone. The build quality of the phone is exceptional due to the metal frame. The phone is available in a vegan leather finish in Jungle Green and Pantone Peach Fuzz color options. While there is also a Koala Grey option coming with a vegan suede finish.

Motorola Edge 50 is a slim phone with MIL-STD 810H certification. The device has a thickness of just 7.79mm and weighs 181 grams. The phone also has a Smart Water Touch technology allowing users to operate the phone with wet hands. There is also an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

Motorola Edge 50 features a 6.67-inch pOLED panel. It has a 120Hz refresh rate providing a buttery smooth touch experience. The display is visible in harsh sunlight due to its 1,900 nits peak brightness. Other highlights include HDR10+ support and SGS Blue Light Reduction certification.

The Edge 50 features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset. This is an upper mid-range chipset providing high performance and efficiency. Though, it may not be the most powerful in the segment. The chip is paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of storage.

The camera setup is led by a 50MP primary camera, a 10MP 3x telephoto lens, and finally a 13MP ultra-wide sensor. It provides a versatile camera experience. For selfies and video calls, there is a 13MP shooter on the front.

The Motorola Edge 50 comes with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 68W fast charging. Moreover, the phone also supports 15W wireless charging and 5W reverse wireless charging. The phone comes out of the box with Hello UI based on Android 14. Motorola promises two years of software and three years of security updates. Pricing

Motorola Edge 50 comes in a single variant featuring 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It is priced at Rs 27,999 in India roughly translating to $334. The phone will go on sale starting August 8.

That said, the Motorola Edge 50 is a promising upper mid-range smartphone providing an all-round experience. It is a device that will be liked by users who prefer a good build quality and overall a good experience. Though it may not be the strongest device with respect to performance in the market, it makes up in the other departments such as versatile camera setup, wired and wireless charging, etc.
