The Android Auto 12.6 beta is available for download now. But only those enrolled in the test group on Google Play can access it. Unfortunately, the group currently does not accept new members. However, there is a workaround for those eager to try out the beta. By visiting APK Mirror, you can download and install the Android Auto 12.6 beta on devices running Android 8 or higher. The APK is safe, signed by Google, and you can install it as an update to your existing app.
