Huawei Triple-Folding Device

Huawei is reportedly working on a new triple-folding smartphone. The first image of this device recently surfaced, showing it in the hands of Richard Yu, CEO of the Consumer Business Group (CBG) division. The image revealed the device in its fully unfolded form, generating a lot of interest.

A week later, a second image appeared online, this time showing the phone in its folded state. Given the timing of these images, it’s likely that they were intentionally released. The new image shows a very thin device with a noticeable camera bump.

The smartphone will have a 10-inch foldable display. It is expected to launch this fall, before the Mate 70 series, which is set to be released in mid-to-late Q4. The camera design seems similar to the Mate X5, suggesting that this new device may share some of its features.

Gizchina News of the week

Despite its triple-fold design, the phone does not appear too thick or wide when held, which indicates that Huawei has focused on making it easy to use. This is impressive, considering the challenges of creating foldable devices, especially with multiple folding parts.

The phone will feature Silicon-Carbon battery technology. This newer battery type, already used by other Chinese smartphone brands, offers higher energy density. This could mean better battery life without making the phone larger. However, this technology does not yet match the fastest charging speeds of traditional batteries.

Huawei’s work on this triple-folding smartphone shows their commitment to innovation. The combination of advanced battery technology and a sleek design suggests that this device could become a key product in their lineup, potentially setting new industry standards.
