Xiaomi is preparing to unveil its eagerly awaited Xiaomi Pad 7 Series. The company’s tablet lineup has been doing quite well since its revival with the 5th Generation. Now, the Xiaomi Pad 7 series aims to follow in the footsteps of the well-received Pad 6 lineup. This upcoming series will include two variants: the Xiaomi Pad 7 and the Pad 7 Pro. The Pro version has already made its way through China’s 3C certification process and has also been listed in Singapore’s IMDA database. Now, the tipster Digital Chat Station has leaked some crucial information regarding these forthcoming tablets.
Xiaomi Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro Key Specifications
According to a recent Weibo post by DSC), the Xiaomi Pad 7 will bring last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. It may be an aging chipset, especially with the imminent reveal of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. However, we have to agree that even with its age, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 can beat most of the mid-range chipsets in the market. So, even in 2024, a device with this chip should be considered high-end in terms of performance. The tablet will have an 11-inch screen with super clear 3K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, making it look really smooth and sharp. Plus, it will have a big 10,000mAh battery that charges fast with 120W, so it won’t take long to charge and will last a long time.
Gizchina News of the week
Earlier leaks have suggested that the Pad 7 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. It will feature a 144Hz OLED display, offering a premium visual experience. The battery capacity and charging speed will mirror those of the standard Pad 7. Therefore, expect a 10,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging. Digital Chat Station (DCS) also mentioned that both tablets will launch with HyperOS 2.0. It is anticipated to debut alongside the Xiaomi 15 series. We expect some exclusive tweaks for the large-sized devices.
Launch Timeline
Initially rumored to launch in Q3 of 2024, these tablets will arrive in October alongside the Xiaomi 15 series. The initial rollout will target the Chinese market, with a global release likely to follow. The fact that the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro has already passed Singapore’s IMDA certification suggests that international availability is on the horizon. Furthermore, it shows the brand’s intention to expand its reach beyond China.
