Foldable phones have been gaining popularity in recent years. Brands like Samsung, Honor, and Huawei have launched multiple options so far. Tecno is now entering this market with the launch of its new foldable devices. The two new devices are the Phantom V Fold 2 and the Phantom V Flip 2. These phones offer unique features and innovative designs.
In addition to the foldable phones, Tecno has also introduced a first-party stylus that is compatible with the Phantom V Fold 2. This stylus adds a new dimension to the device, making it more versatile for productivity and creativity.
Highlights of Tecno Phantom V Fold 2
The Tecno Phantom V Fold 2 is the company’s second-generation foldable phone. It features a redesigned rear camera module with a triple-lens system arranged in a rectangular shape. The design may seem a little unconventional. However, it still maintains the faux leather back and curved display sides that were popular in the original model.
One of the significant improvements in the Phantom V Fold 2 is the battery capacity. It now has a larger 5,750mAh battery. To compare, the predecessor had a 5,000mAh battery. This allows for longer usage between charges.
Moreover, the phone supports faster charging speeds of up to 70W, enabling quicker battery replenishment. For the first time in a Tecno foldable, wireless charging is also available at a power of 15W.
While the battery and design have received updates, the core specifications of the Tecno Phantom V Fold 2 remain somewhat unchanged. The phone continues to offer ample memory with 12 GB of RAM. As for the storage options, you get 256 GB or 512 GB.
The external display maintains a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and a Full HD+ resolution. As for the internal screen, it also features a 120Hz refresh rate. But it boasts a “2K+” resolution. Tecno did not provide further details about the exact meaning of “2K+.”

To complement the Phantom V Fold 2, Tecno has introduced its first-ever stylus. Tecno designed it for foldable phones, and it’s called the Phantom V Pen. This lightweight pen weighs only 10 grams. It features two buttons for easy navigation. One button provides access to AI tools on the phone. The other button is for various tasks like turning pages, controlling music, and taking photos.
Powered by an 80mAh battery, the Phantom V Pen can offer up to two hours of daily use for two weeks. However, unlike some other foldable phones with built-in stylus charging capabilities, the V Pen needs to be charged separately. It does not have the ability to charge wirelessly using the phone itself.
Also Meet the New Tecno Phantom V Flip 2
The Tecno Phantom V Flip 2 represents a significant departure from its predecessor in terms of design. Gone is the large, circular camera module and smartwatch-like cover display. Instead, the V Flip 2 adopts a more modern aesthetic with an all-over display featuring cutouts for the two camera lenses. This design approach is reminiscent of Motorola’s Razr line, particularly the recent Motorola Razr (2024).
Similar to the Phantom V Fold 2, the V Flip 2 also boasts a substantial battery upgrade. It now houses a 4,720mAh battery, allowing for extended usage between charges. Wired charging is supported at a fast speed of 70W, but unfortunately, wireless charging is not available on this model.
The internal display of the V Flip 2 measures 6.9 inches and offers a smooth 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. It also features a Full HD+ resolution for sharp and vibrant visuals. Notably, the display is completely flat, which Tecno refers to as “ultra-flat.”
As of now, Tecno has not disclosed the pricing or availability details for the Phantom V Flip 2. But these details should emerge soon.
