HMD Global has just launched the HMD Skyline smartphone in India. The phone, first seen in July, brings a unique feature called Gen2 Repairability, allowing users to fix their phones at home. With this system, users can open the smartphone’s back cover by turning one screw, using tools like a screwdriver and a guitar pick.
The HMD Skyline comes with a 6.55-inch pOLED screen, offering a smooth 144Hz refresh rate and HDR10 video playback. The display is bright, reaching up to 1000 nits, and is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The smartphone runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, providing fast and efficient performance. There’s also a Custom Button that users can set up to do different things, like launching apps or tools with a quick press or hold.

In the camera department, this smartphone boasts an impressive 108MP rear camera. The rear camera sensor also supports Hybrid OIS for better stability. It further includes a 13MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP telephoto lens, perfect for taking portraits. On the front, there’s a 50MP selfie camera with eye-tracking and autofocus. One fun feature is the ability to take selfies using hand gestures, such as showing a peace sign to activate the camera.
