Google officially announced the Pixel 9 series on August 13. It has been only a little over a month since then. However, we are already seeing leaks about the upcoming Pixel 10 lineup. A recent one has disclosed the alleged codenames of the phones that will be in the next line.
Leak Reveals Google Pixel 10 Series Will Have Five Phones
The leak, which comes from Android Headlines, has also shared the codename of Pixel 9a, which is expected to be announced in the Google I/O event in 2025. Per the outlet, the next affordable smartphone will be codenamed “Tegu.” As for the Google Pixel 10 series, the leak claims the following:
- Pixel 10 will be “Frankel”
- Pixel 10 Pro will be “Blazer”
- Pixel 10 Pro XL will be “Mustang”
- Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be “Rango”
So, it appears that Google will be sticking to the four-phone lineup strategy, with the Fold integrated into the series and the Pro model having two variants. The latter is a piece of good news because there aren’t many relatively small-sized top-end phones around anymore.
Gizchina News of the week
In the past, Asus played a big role in this with the launch of Zenfone 10. However, the company has yet to introduce a proper successor to this sub-6-inch 2023 flagship. Apple has also made the differences between the iPhone 16 Pro and the larger 16 Pro Max less significant than in the past, but the smaller variant is still over 6-inch, just like the Pixel 9 Pro.
The upcoming vanilla Samsung Galaxy S25 could be a good consideration for a small-sized flagship, but it won’t have the same core specs as the S25 Ultra. That is basically where the Pixel 9 Pro differs. Besides having a smaller screen and a lower battery capacity, all the specs match with the Pro XL, and hopefully, this will remain the same for the upcoming Pixel 10 lineup.
