For some reason, Apple likes to keep the exact battery capacities of its iPhones under wraps. The company didn’t reveal any information about it during the last launch. But thanks to Brazilian regulatory agency Anatel, we now have a clear picture of the newly announced iPhone 16 series.
Apple iPhone 16 Series Battery Capacities: A Closer Look
The Apple iPhone 16 features a 3,561 mAh battery. That is a 6.3% increase from its predecessor. The 16 Plus comes with a 4,674 mAh battery. This represents a 6.6% improvement over its previous generation.
Moving to the Pro models, the iPhone 16 Pro packs a 3,582 mAh battery. In comparison, this is a significant 9.4% boost from the iPhone 15 Pro.Finally, the 16 Pro Max packs a 4,685 mAh cell, which is 5.5% larger than the battery found in the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
That means all the phones within the new iPhone 16 lineup come with larger batteries than their predecessor. Combined with the efficient Apple A18 and A18 Pro SoCs, this should result in a more reliable battery life for smartphones.
Gizchina News of the week
As for the charging, the iPhone 16 models support faster 25W MagSafe charging. However, you’ll need to purchase one of Apple’s new MagSafe chargers. Also, you need a 30W power adapter to take advantage of this feature.
Additionally, the devices can charge up to 45W using USB-C. This is also a step up from the predecessors. For reference, the iPhone 15 lineup maxed out at 25W. This faster charging support should get the newer iPhone 16 smartphones from 0% to 100% quickly.
Overall, the charging and battery aspects of the new iPhone 16 models seem like a proper improvement. It’s unclear why Apple didn’t talk about it during the launch event. But again, this isn’t something new, as the company does this all the time.
