Vivo X Fold 4 tipped to be thinner than Honor Magic V3 despite having larger battery capacity

Magic V3 Thickness

Honor recently launched its Magic V3 to the global market. At launch, the company took a dig at Samsung by writing the “world’s smallest apology” on the hinge of the foldable phone. In this etched letter, the brand apologized to the owners with a Galaxy Z Fold phone for not having the world’s thinnest folding smartphone.

However, it seems Honor’s record with the Magic V3 will soon see a rival, the Vivo X Fold 4. As tipped by Digital Chat Station, a reliable leakster, the upcoming Vivo foldable will measure “8.x mm” thick. This is less than what the new Honor folding phone measures when you fold it.

More specifically, the Magic V3 measures 9.2 mm thick when folded, and it measures 226 grams. The fiberglass version of the Vivo X Fold 4, on the other hand, reportedly weighs “21x” grams. That means Vivo’s upcoming folding phone will not only be thinner, but it will be lighter as well.

What’s more interesting is that Digital Chat Station reports that the Vivo foldable will feature a total battery capacity of 6,000 mAh. This, again, is better than the Honor Magic V3, and Vivo being able to pack larger silicone batteries while keeping the thickness and weight low would be pretty impressive.

What Else Did the Tipster Share About the Vivo X Fold 4?

Other details of the Vivo X Fold 4 shared by Digital Chat Station include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, 50 MP triple camera setup on the back, IPX8 rating, and wireless charging. All of these, paired with the lighter and thinner body, would make the competition even more intense for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6.

There’s no word on the availability of the smartphone yet. However, it’s expected that the X Fold 4 will make its Chinese debut in April of next year.
