Huawei might delay the release of its new Kirin chip for PCs until the first quarter of 2025, according to a report by Huawei Central, citing an insider from BeijingDigitalMaster. This news is disappointing for many tech fans who were hoping for a sooner launch.

Huawei’s Kirin Chip for PCs May Not Launch Until Early 2025

Huawei has several exciting products set to launch this month. These include the Nova 13 smartphone series, a new MatePad tablet, the Sound X4 speaker, the Hi MateBook smart laptop, and a public beta of the new HarmonyOS Next operating system. By November, we can expect the stable version of HarmonyOS Next. As well as the flagship Mate 70 series and the foldable Mate X6 phone.

Earlier reports suggested that Huawei might launch HarmonyOS for PCs within the next six months. And many hopes the Kirin PC chip would be official at the same time.

Rumors suggest that the new Kirin PC chip will follow a similar design to Apple’s M chip. This design combines DRAM (memory) and the SoC (processor) into one unit, improving performance and efficiency. This could make the new chip a strong competitor in the PC market.

Though the Kirin PC chip may not be as power-efficient as phone processors, it is expected to offer advanced features, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI). These AI features could bring significant improvements to laptops, making them smarter and faster.

BeijingDigitalMaster has a strong track record of reporting accurate details about Huawei’s developments, particularly with HarmonyOS. Even though the Kirin PC chip may be delayed, expectations remain high. If the chip lives up to its potential, Huawei could become a major player in the PC market by offering powerful computers enhanced with cutting-edge AI technology.
