Snapdragon 8 Elite will Power Every Galaxy S25 Smartphone Worldwide

Samsung has decided to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor in all Galaxy S25 models globally. This comes as a surprise because many expected Samsung to include its own Exynos 2500 chip in some regions, like it has done in previous years. However, new reports suggest that all Galaxy S25 variants, including the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra, will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor in every market around the world.

Samsung Shifts to Qualcomm for All ModelsSnapdragon 8 Elite

Samsung’s mobile chief, TM Roh, attended Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite announcement event this week. His appearance showed a strong partnership between Samsung and Qualcomm for the new Galaxy S25 series. After this event, tipster Ice Universe confirmed that all Galaxy S25 models will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor worldwide. No regions will get Exynos or MediaTek chips. This is great news for Samsung fans, especially in places where Exynos chips were used before. Qualcomm’s processors are seen as more reliable and efficient.

Exynos 2500 Production IssuesSnapdragon 8 Elite

Originally, Samsung intended to use the Exynos 2500 chip in some models of the Galaxy S25 series. The Exynos 2500 was expected to be a big upgrade, using Samsung’s advanced second-generation 3nm process and newer Arm CPU cores. However, recent reports suggest that Samsung faced difficulties in producing enough high-quality Exynos 2500 chips. Many of the chips reportedly failed quality testing, leading Samsung to abandon its plans for the Exynos chip in the Galaxy S25 lineup.

This decision is not entirely new for Samsung. In the Galaxy S24 series, the company used the Exynos 2400 chip in the Galaxy S24 and S24+ models in most regions, but opted for the Snapdragon chip in the Galaxy S24 Ultra globally.

Benefits of Snapdragon 8 Elite

For users, the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor is a major win. Early tests show that the latest chipset from Qualcomm performs extremely well. Its CPU is almost as fast as Apple’s A18 Pro, and its GPU is faster and more power-efficient. This means the Galaxy S25 series will not only deliver excellent performance but also offer improved battery life.
