After months of leaks and rumors, Xiaomi is finally getting ready for its next move in the flagship market. The Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro are set for release later this month with the newly released Snapdragon 8 Elite. According to recent reports, a Xiaomi 15 Ultra will follow suit in February. While this release is a bit far, a new set of leaked renders claims to show the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s appearance. It has a distinctive camera setup with an unusual arrangement.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra Appears with Weird Camera Design
The camera island itself is pretty standard with a circular cutout. That’s the usual for the Xiaomi Ultra series, what bothers the fans of symmetry is the placement of the camera modules. They are asymmetrically aligned. As per the source of the images, the single camera on the top is the 200 MP 4.3x zoom periscope telephoto.
It uses Samsung’s ISOCELL HP9 sensor. On the bottom row, there is a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP ultrawide shooter, and a 50 MP 2x telephoto snapper. For selfies, there is a 32 MP camera.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will also boast a 6.7-inch 120 Hz LTPO OLED micro-quad curved display. Under the hood, it will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will follow the trend of flagships boasting huge batteries with a 6,000 mAh cell. It will also offer support for 90W wired charging and 80W wireless charging. It will run HyperOS 2.0 straight out of the box with Android 15 running as the underlying version.
There are still a few months ahead of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra release. Therefore, take these leaks with a grain of salt. The render’s design shows a device with a strange camera arrangement, but the final product could look much better. In any case, let’s wait a bit for the official look of the new smartphone. Before that, we will see the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro starting the new 2025 flagship race for Xiaomi.
