Google Pixel 9a Battery Details Emerge in a New Rumor

Google’s Pixel 9a is rumored to launch earlier than previous models, and a new leak reveals it will feature a 5,000 mAh battery. This is an upgrade from the Pixel 8a’s 4,492 mAh battery, so it should last longer on a single charge. The extra 500 mAh definitively makes some difference, and considering how Google is doing a great job in optimizing its Pixels’ battery life, the new Pixel 9a could be a major step up when compared to its predecessor.

Gizchina News of the week

According to recent reports, the Pixel 9a may launch sooner than its predecessors. For context, the Pixel 9 was revealed in August of this year. It is two months earlier than Google’s usual schedule of October release. The reports claim that the Pixel 9 family is not complete yet as the Pixel 9a is yet to come. The new rumor states that the Pixel 9a pre-orders will start in mid-March which is about two months earlier than past “a” series releases. Older Pixel A-series phones were released around the Google I/O in May. The next phone, on the other hand, should hit the stores before the end of March and will sell in Porcelain, Obsidian, Peony, and Iris colors.

The rumor states that Google plans to stick to this new March timeline for future “a” series smartphones. That said, the Google Pixel 10a should repeat this with a March 2026 release. Even Android 16, is expected to arrive earlier than usual. The next year’s Android update is expected for June which means an early release and suggests that the next update won’t be massive in comparison to Android 15.
