Oppo is gearing up to launch its next foldable smartphone in the form of the Oppo Find N5. The device will serve as a successor to the Oppo Find N3, and according to rumors it was set to launch in Q1 2025. This means the phone could arrive anytime between January and March 2025. Now, however, the tipster Smart Pikachu states that the new foldable will arrive in the first half of 2025. While this info may sound redundant, it means anytime before next July. It opens the launch window beyond March 2025, but still, means anytime between January and June 2025.
Oppo Find N5 Will Launch in the First Half of 2025
The tipster also corroborated previous rumors about the Oppo Find N5 featuring a circular camera module housing three 50 MP cameras. In addition, they say the folding smartphone will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. Furthermore, it will also feature an “enhanced metal texture”. The new smartphone supports wireless magnetic charging. It will also be compatible with Apple’s ecosystem. We are curious to see how that will work in the final product.
Gizchina News of the week
Besides the new foldable smartphone, Oppo will also launch the Oppo Find X8 Ultra next year. This will be an important launch since the Oppo Find X8 and Find X8 Pro last month in China, which are slated for global release this month.
We expect the Oppo Find N5 to be similar to the Oppo Find X8 Pro when it comes to the hardware. While the display and build will obviously be very different, some aspects of the hardware may be similar. For comparison, the recently released flagship has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display (2780×1264 pixels) with 1-120Hz adaptive refresh, 4500 nits brightness, and OPPO Crystal Shield. It runs on a Dimensity 9400 chip with up to 16GB RAM, up to 1TB storage, and Android 15 with ColorOS 15. The camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor, ultra-wide, and 120X zoom telephoto lenses, plus a 32MP front camera. Other features include in-display fingerprint, IP68/IP69 resistance, Dolby Atmos speakers, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, and NFC. Powered by a 5910mAh battery, it supports 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. The Foldable could employ the Snapdragon 8 Elite, but other specs could be fairly similar.
There is still plenty of time before the launch of the new foldable. So we expect more details to appear soon.
