Microsoft Begins Preview Rollout of Recall Feature for Snapdragon PCs

Recall

Microsoft has started testing its new Recall feature with Windows Insiders using Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs. The company released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26120.2415 (KB5046723), which includes Recall (Preview) and Click to Do (Preview)—two AI-powered tools designed to simplify workflows.

Microsoft Launches Recall and Click to Do Features for Windows Insiders

Recall uses AI to save snapshots of your screen. It helps users revisit past information quickly and efficiently. The feature is optional and requires your consent before storing snapshots. Microsoft ensures that all data stays on your PC. Snapshots are not shared with Microsoft or third parties, nor are they used to train AI models.

Once updated, Recall will appear in your app list. It requires Windows Hello authentication to start. With Recall, you can search for past content using natural language or by scrolling through a timeline. It retrieves results based on text or visual matches, making it easy to find what you need.

So, you can pause the snapshot feature at any time. A system tray icon shows its status and provides quick access to controls. Microsoft has also included privacy safeguards. Sensitive data, like passwords and credit card numbers, will not be stored in snapshots.

What is Click to Do (Preview)?

Click to Do works with Recall to provide quick actions for text and images in snapshots. For text, you can:

  • Copy content
  • Search the web
  • Open websites
  • Send emails

For images, you can:

  • Copy or share them
  • Perform visual searches
  • Erase objects
  • Remove backgrounds

Also, this feature saves time by letting you take action directly within Recall.

How to Join the Preview

Currently, these features are only available to Windows Insiders with Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs. Support for AMD and Intel PCs will follow soon. To try them now:

  1. Sign up for the Windows Insider Program with your Microsoft account.
  2. Go to Settings > Windows Update > Windows Insider Program and click Get Started.
  3. Link your account and select the Dev Channel.
  4. Restart your PC, check for updates, and download Build 26120.2415.

Once updated, you’ll find Recall (Preview) ready to use. These new AI tools are designed to boost productivity, making it easier to find and act on the information you need.
