After recent rumors, and the confirmation of the OnePlus Ace 5 series name, OnePlus has officially announced that the OnePlus Ace 5 and 5 Pro will launch in December. Both phones will first arrive in China. The Ace 5 will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, while the Ace 5 Pro will include the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite. Eventually, the OnePlus Ace 5 will leave China to become the OnePlus 13R which was already certified on multiple fronts.

OnePlus executive Louis Lee revealed gaming benchmark results for the Ace 5 while playing King of Glory. During a one-hour test, the Ace 5 achieved over 120 FPS, using 3.57W of power and maintaining a temperature of 40.3°C. A comparison was also made with another smartphone featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. It delivered the same 120 FPS performance, with a slightly lower power consumption of 3.27W and a temperature of 40°C.

Additionally, well-known tipster Digital Chat Station shared a teaser image of the Ace 5. The phone reportedly features a sleek flat metal frame and offers an optional ceramic glass back. The back of the device showcases a triple-camera setup. It brings the iconic OnePlus alert slider conveniently positioned on the left side.
Considering the OnePlus Ace 5 series’s arrival in China in December, it’s safe to assume the OnePlus 13R will be ready to launch internationally alongside the OnePlus 13. The global release of the OnePlus flagship should happen in Q1 2025. We expect the new cost-effective flagship OnePlus 13R to tag along.
While most of the specifications remain a mystery for the OnePlus Ace 5, we expect it to include a huge battery. It will certainly follow the trend of massive batteries on flagships. The OnePlus 13 has a massive 6,000 mAh battery. The Ace 5 should come near this capacity. It will run ColorOS 15 in China and will be launched internationally with OxygenOS 15.
