As previously hinted, Vivo revealed its Vivo S20 and S20 Pro smartphones in China today. The device continues this lineup focused on design and camera with premium mid-range specifications. Well, in this regard, the Vivo S20 Pro is quite a surprise with the flagship Dimensity 9300+. The Vivo S20 continues the upper mid-range legacy with the Snapdragon Gen 3. The devices also have differences in cameras and battery capacity, and we will dive into everything in this article.
Vivo S20 Series Specifications and Features
Both Vivo S20 and Pro come with the same 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The display will feature a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. The Vivo S20 gets a flat panel, while the Pro boasts a Quad-Curved Display. Both smartphones feature 50 MP selfie cameras with auto-focus and in-display optical fingerprint scanners.
As mentioned before, the Vivo S20 boasts the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. The Pro, on the other hand, has the flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ SoC. The S20 Pro brings faster Wi-Fi 7 support and the so-called 5.5G connectivity in mainland China.
Gizchina News of the week
Moving around the back, the S20 has a 50 MP main camera (OV50E) with OIS alongside an 8 MP ultrawide lens. The S20 Pro comes with a 50 MP Sony IMX921 with OIS and a 3x periscope lens using the IMX882 sensor. The third camera is a 50 MP ultrawide snapper.
The third major difference between these three smartphones is in the battery capacity. Curiously, the Vivo S0 gets a larger battery with a 6,500 mAh capacity and 80W charging. The S20 Pro has a 5,500 mAh battery with slightly faster 90W charging. We believe that the S20 Pro made some sacrifices in battery capacity to be slimmer. Both run Android 15-based OriginOS 15 straight out of the box.
