According to recent rumors, Samsung will unveil its new Galaxy flagship family in January 2025. As usual, the lineup will include the three models we all know, this time updated to Samsung Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. There are also rumors that point to the launch of a fourth variant dubbed Galaxy S25 Slim. Most of them say it won’t appear in January but will be released later by the South Korean brand. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim had its US model confirmed in certification, and now the international version surfaced as well.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim Will Launch Internationally
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim international variant carries model code SM-S937B/DS, where “B” indicates this unit is a global version while “DS” denotes dual-SIM support. This confirms the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim is also planned for international markets. While there weren’t rumors about a limited release, it’s good to get this confirmation. After all, since this is a Slim variant, presumably smaller than the other devices, it makes sense for users to wonder if it will be something for the masses or just for a limited market.
Gizchina News of the week
Earlier this month, the tipster Ice Universe teased the presence of an “Ultra camera” in the Galaxy S25 Slim. We are sure he means that the Slim variant will carry one of the cameras inside the S25 Ultra. More recently, leaks popped out teasing a powerful camera combo for the Slim. The phone will have a primary 200 MP ISOCELL HP5 camera, a 50 MP ultrawide, and a 50 MP telephoto shooter with 3.5x optical zoom. Both 50 MP cameras will use the JN5 sensor.
Slim, not Small
We don’t know exactly what Samsung plans with the Galaxy S25 Slim, but the camera setup seems to be impressive. The Galaxy S24 Slim will launch with a 6.7-inch flat screen. So, “Slim” does not mean small or “Mini” like the iPhone mini-series. In fact, the Slim stands for the phone’s thinner body. It’s thinner than the rest of the lineup. We don’t know yet how thin it will be.
We expect more details to appear in the future. Interestingly, one leakster from South Korea claimed the Slim will launch around April. Samsung will then release the Galaxy Z Flip SE and two Galaxy Z Fold7 devices in the summer. However, the release date is yet to be decided. For that reason, take this with a pinch of salt.
