Xiaomi 15 Gets NBTC Certification; Hints Imminent Global Launch

Xiaomi launched its new flagship smartphone in October in China. The Xiaomi 15 series composed of the vanilla and Pro variants came with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite. They also bring enhanced cameras, and larger batteries when compared to the older models. As usual, the first release happened in China, and global consumers are still waiting for the new devices. According to a new report, it seems that global fans of the brand can soon have higher hopes for a global launch. The Xiaomi 15 passed Thailand’s NBTC certification.

The NBTC certification is an important step ahead of a global release. It means that the Xiaomi 15 is ready to be unveiled in Thailand. It also means that the brand has begun acquiring the needed certifications for a global launch. The phone appears with model number 24129PN74G for the global market. It is confirmed to offer GSM / WCDMA / LTE / NR connectivity. Unfortunately, the listing does not bring further details. We already know what to expect in terms of hardware, and unlike some brands, Xiaomi tends to bring the exact specs of the Chinese variant to global markets.

The Xiaomi 15 was also spotted on the FCC database recently. The device was certified in two configurations: 12GB + 256GB and 12GB+512GB. It will come with HyperOS 2 straight out of the box with Android 15 running as the underlying version.

The Xiaomi 15 will bring its powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor paired with a huge 5,400 mAh battery with 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The phone has a 6.36-inch LTPO OLED screen with 2,670 x 1,200 pixels of resolution. It has a dynamic refresh rate that ranges from 1 Hz to 120 Hz. The display has Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support. In terms of optics, the flagship has a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP ultrawide shooter, and a 50 MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.

Considering the company’s global launch patterns, we usually see Xiaomi’s global flagship release happening between February and March. Therefore, we probably will have to wait until the next year to see the devices launching globally. The company could also introduce an Ultra variant for the global release. We expect more details in due time.
