After long weeks of teasers and leaks, OnePlus is finally here with the OnePlus Ace 5 and OnePlus Ace 5 Pro. As usual, the new flagships have jumped to number four and are the successors of the OnePlus Ace 5 and 5 Pro. They bring the best possible specifications for the OnePlus range of cost-effective flagships. Although Chinese exclusives, the OnePlus Ace 5 is also important for global consumers since it is expected to debut as the OnePlus 13R. Without further ado, let’s see what these devices add to the table.
OnePlus Ace 5 Pro
The OnePlus Ace 5 Pro comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset just like the flagship OnePlus 13. The device is paired with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, the smartphone comes with up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage onboard. It runs Android 15-based ColorOS 15 straight out of the box.
The OnePlus Ace 5 Pro features “double ice core VC” for 2x faster heat dissipation. The device also comes with a Fengchi Gaming Core (machine translated from Chinese) for native 120 FPS gaming at 1080p resolution. OnePlus also partnered with Genshin Impact for enhanced gaming.
The Ace 5 Pro carries a 6.78-inch 8T LTPO OLED Display with a 2,780 x 1,264 pixels resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and Crystal Shield Glass protection. The screen has a peak brightness of 4,500 nits and supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+. It also works when your hands are wet or when you are wearing gloves.
The display has an under-screen fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. It also has a punch-hole cutout for the 16 MP selfie camera. Moving around to the back, the device has a circular camera island that serves as a house for three cameras: A 50 MP Primary Snapper (Sony IMX906, OIS), an 8 MP Ultrawide, and a 2 MP macro shooter. The Ace 5 Pro also has AI features that allow you to remove people from photos and de-glare the images.
The Ace 5 Pro continues the trend of super batteries with its 6,100 mAh silicon carbon cell with 100W charging. It also supports bypass charging designed for gaming. Other features include NFC, IR Blaster, IP65 rating, and X-axis linear motor. The device has Wi-Fi 7 and a gaming Wi-Fi chip dubbed G1.
The Pro sells in Purple, Black, and a Special White color option with a ceramic finish.
The device sells in five memory options. 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, 16GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB, and 16GB/1TB, priced at CNY3,399 ($465/€450/INR39,670), CNY3,999 ($550/€530/INR46,670), CNY3,699 ($505/€490/INR43,170), CNY4,199 ($575/€555/INR49,000), and CNY4,699 ($645/€620/INR54,840), respectively.
Ace 5
The OnePlus Ace 5 is mostly a nerfed variant of the Pro. Not so nerfed since it still carries yesterday’s best in the form of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The smartphone misses the gaming Wi-Fi chip, and the VC cooling system is also different. However, it still offers support for 120FPS gaming. It has a bigger 6,415 mAh battery with 80W fast-charging support.
The Ace 5 sells n 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, 16GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB, and 16GB/1TB configurations. They are priced at CNY2,299 ($315/€305/INR26,830), CNY2,799 ($385/€370/INR32,665), CNY2,499 ($340/€330/INR29,165), CNY2,999 ($410/€395/INR35,000), and CNY3,499 ($480/€460/INR40,835), respectively.
The OnePlus Ace 5’s ceramic model also comes only in 16GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB variants, costing CNY100 ($14/€13/INR1,170) more than the standard versions.
