After months of teasers and leaks, OnePlus finally unveiled the new cost-effective flagships in China. The OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro are solid smartphones with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and 8 Elite, respectively. They bring gorgeous displays, capable cameras, and huge batteries and cost less than the OnePlus 13. Now, the OnePlus Ace 5 is expected to make an appearance in global markets under the OnePlus 13R moniker. Today, the device had its battery capacity confirmed along with its early-bird pricing.
OnePlus 13R comes with a 6,500 mAh Battery
Some users were very optimistic about the fact that the OnePlus Ace 5 has a 6,500 mAh battery in China. It’s the largest battery in a OnePlus smartphone and a huge upgrade over the 5,500 mAh capacity seen on the Ace 3. The phone keeps a sleek profile with an 8mm thickness. Unfortunately, this capacity will not come for global markets, but we will still see an improvement.
The OnePlus 13R will come with a 6,000 mAh battery, which means OnePlus is bringing a smaller cell for the global version. It coincides with the battery capacity seen on the OnePlus 13 flagship. However, some users still have high hopes for a 6,500 mAh cell. The 13R shares the teaser webpage with the flagship OnePlus 13, so some fans speculate the listing might be wrong.
We honestly suggest you not hold your breath for the larger capacity. After all, rumors have been teasing the OnePlus 13R with a 6,000 mAh battery for a long time. So that might end up being the actual capacity of the global variant. It still stands as an upgrade as the OnePlus 12R had a 5,500 mAh battery as its Chinese counterpart.
As per the reports, the OnePlus 13R will launch in a single version with 12GB RAM and 256GB Storage. The option will launch in India in two color options: Nebula Noir and Astrail Trail. The brand has also started taking early-bird reservations of the device for $50. There is a $50 discount on the device in addition to other gifts worth $229. The exact price is not yet revealed. When it comes to the OnePlus 13R, the device is said to cost between INR 67,000 and INR 70,000. There is a slight increase over the INR 64,999 seen on the OnePlus 12 at launch.
