Vivo Y200+ Unveiled with Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 and 6000mAh Battery

The Vivo Y200 series is getting bigger with the addition of a new variant. As usual in the Y-series, the new Vivo Y200+ does not take major departures from the low-end segment but brings some neat upgrades over its siblings. It is now official in China and should reach other markets in the next month.

The Vivo Y200+ comes with a 6.68-inch LCD screen with an HD+ resolution of 1,608 x 720 pixels. While the resolution is below today’s standards, we have a high refresh rate of 120 Hz. The display is also quite bright with 1000 nits peak brightness. It ensures extra clarity even under direct sunlight. The smartphone gets TUV Rheiland certification for low blue light and global DC dimming to reduce screen flicker.
Under the hood, the performance is ensured by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor. This chipset ensures decent multi-tasking for basic apps and social media apps. It’s also possible to play some casual games and even competitive online games with low or medium settings. The smartphone is paired with up to 12 GB of RAM ensuring great multitasking. There is also up to 512 GB storage for apps and files. Interestingly, you can further expand it via a micro SD card slot.
The Vivo Y200+ runs Funtouch OS, which provides a user-friendly interface with smart features. The OS is optimized with some AI tools for call improvements and simple modes for elderly users.
In terms of optics, the phone comes with a 50 MP primary camera and a 2 MP depth sensor. For selfies and video calls, there is a 5 MP portrait shooter.
The Vivo Y200+ brings a massive 6,000 mAh battery to play. Fortunately, low-end smartphones are entering the era of fast charging. The device has 44W fast charging which is more than some flagships in the market offer.
Since Vivo has a recurring tradition of keeping sleekness as one of its focuses, the Vivo Y200+ doesn’t disappoint. The smartphone comes with a 7.99mm thickness, which is great considering the battery. Other features include IP64 certification for water splashes and dust resistance. There is also a so-called “Rock Solid Shock Absorption” structure for extra durability. The device also comes with 5G and dual stereo speakers.

Pricing and Availability

The Vivo Y200+ is now available for purchase on JD.com and Vivo website. It starts with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB for the base model at CNY 1,099. The mid option comes with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage and costs CNY 1,299 ($178). It is currently discounted at CNY 1,199 ($164). Finally, the high-tier option costs CNY 1,499 ($205) with 12 GB RAM and 512 GB of Storage. The phone sells in three color options: Apricot Sea, Sky City, and Midnight Black.
