In the world of smartphones, Caviar is a well-known name when it comes to luxury versions of existing devices. The brand historically creates luxury versions of the iPhones and other popular smartphones that employ expensive materials for a unique appeal. In September, the company announced the customized Huawei Mate XT Ultima Black Dragon and Gold Dragon versions, with the latter covered with 24k gold. Now, the company decided to launch another custom Huawei Mate XT Ultimate, this time with an 18k gold coating.
A custom version for extra-rich clients in US
The new Huawei Mate XT Ultimate custom variant by Caviar looks similar to the Gold Dragon version. The difference is that it weighs about 1 kg. The cost is over $100,000 (€95,890/INR8,539,350). According to Caviar the variant was “specially made as one piece limited edition for the extra-rich client from the US”. That is why the variant is not listed on their website. Apparently, there are some clients in the US interested in this variant.
The 24k gold model, originally launched at a starting price of $14,500 (€13,905/INR 1,238,205), now comes with a base price of $17,340 (€16,630/INR 1,480,725). Caviar will produce only 88 units of this model, as the number 88 is considered lucky in Chinese culture.
The standard Huawei Mate XT Ultimate weighs approximately 300 g and launched at a starting price of CNY 19,999 ($2,740/€2,630/INR 233,925). While it is currently exclusive to China, an international release is planned for Q1 2025.
