iQOO Z9 Turbo with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and 6,400mAh Battery Coming in January

iQOO Z9 Turbo

iQOO launched the Z9 Turbo smartphone earlier this year, and now the company has announced a new version called the Z9 Turbo Long Battery Edition, set to arrive in China in January 2025. This updated model focuses on delivering a longer-lasting battery, aiming to enhance user experience by providing extended usage time between charges. Stay tuned for more details as the launch date approaches!

New 6,500 mAh Battery Inside

The iQOO Z9 Turbo Long Battery Edition will keep the same design as its predecessor while featuring the powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC. The main upgrade is its battery, which increases from 6000mAh to 6400mAh, offering longer usage without sacrificing the phone’s slim build.

The phone will debut a new “Flying Blue” color with a wavy texture on the back panel. It is worth noting that this is machine-translated, so the actual marketing name of this color could be slightly different. It will also feature dual rear cameras, with the main camera supporting optical image stabilization (OIS). Other available colors are expected to include Black, White, and Blue.

According to iQOO’s product manager Xing Cheng, this version is not an entirely new product but an enhanced model designed to maximize battery capacity while maintaining the same weight and thickness. More details about the phone should be revealed soon, as the official launch is planned for early January 2025.

iQOO Z9 Turbo Specifications

The Z9 Turbo also had a 50 MP Sony LYT-600 sensor with OIS. It also comes with an 8 MP ultrawide snapper with f/2.2 aperture. The smartphone also has a 16 MP Samsung S5K3P9 front-facing camera, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and an Infrared sensor. The phone includes stereo speakers and a USB Type-C port. Other features are IP64 dust and water splash resistance, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 6, and NFC. These features were available with the regular Z9 Turbo. These specs came underneath a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 2,800 x 1,600 pixels resolution. It had a 144Hz refresh rate, and 4,500 nits peak brightness. So, we’re betting on only a battery upgrade for the new variant. As a result, we may see the same specs as the older variant.
