Huawei’s impressive comeback

Huawei made a remarkable recovery, shipping 46 million units in 2024, a staggering 37% growth compared to the previous year. The company’s resurgence highlights its resilience in overcoming prior challenges, including sanctions that impacted its operations. With a strong lineup of devices and support from loyal customers, Huawei re-established itself as a formidable player in the market.

Vivo claims the top spot

Vivo emerged as the market leader in 2024, shipping 49.3 million units and capturing a 17% market share, representing an 11% year-on-year growth. Vivo’s success is attributed to its focus on consumer-centric innovations, including enhanced cameras, longer battery life, and competitive pricing. Its ability to resonate with a broad demographic helped it secure this dominant position.

Apple’s decline in China

Apple, the leader in 2023, fell to third place in 2024, shipping 42.9 million units, a 17% decrease from the previous year. Although Apple managed to top the Q4 2024 rankings with 13.1 million units shipped, this was a 25% drop compared to Q4 2023. The decline reflects growing competition from local brands and a shift in consumer preferences toward more affordable options.
