Unveiling the Magic of iOS 18.3: What’s New for iPhones?

iOS 18.3

Apple will release iOS 18.3 next week. This update is smaller than earlier ones but still adds new features, bug fixes, and useful improvements. Here are five key features to look forward to:

1. Add Events From Posters or FlyersiOS 18.3

With iOS 18.3, iPhone 16 users can add events to their Calendar app directly from a poster or flyer. Use the Visual Intelligence feature by long-pressing the Camera Control button while viewing the poster. Your phone will suggest adding the event to your calendar instantly.

2. Identify Plants and Animals Instantly

The update improves Visual Intelligence for real-time identification of plants and animals. Point your camera at a plant or animal, and it will display its name and details. This feature works in the Camera app, building on the existing tool in Photos that identifies saved images.

3. Manage Notifications Quickly

iOS 18.3 makes it easier to manage notification summaries. Swipe left on a summarized notification on your Lock Screen to turn off summaries for that app. You can always turn them back on in Settings ➝ Notifications ➝ Summarize Notifications.

4. Improved Notification Appearance

Summarized notifications now appear in italicized text to help you spot them easily. Apple has also disabled summaries for News & Entertainment apps due to misleading headlines, ensuring you get accurate information.

5. Calculator Repeating OperationsiOS 18.3

The Calculator app gets a helpful update. You can now repeat calculations by tapping the equals sign twice. For example, enter 10×10 and press equals to get 100. Tap equals again, and it multiplies by 10 again (100×10). This feature is great for compound interest or similar tasks.

Conclusion

iOS 18.3 may not bring major changes, but its features make iPhones smarter and more intuitive. From adding events through the camera to real-time plant identification and improved notification handling, these updates improve everyday tasks. Keep an eye out for the update next week and make the most of these exciting changes!
