Apple has launched iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3, bringing new features and fixes to improve the user experience. One of the standout additions is the enhanced Visual Intelligence feature. Now, users can add events to their Calendar app directly by scanning posters or flyers. The feature can also identify more types of plants and animals, making it even more versatile.
Apple Releases iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 with Exciting Updates
Apple has temporarily removed Intelligence Notification summaries for news and entertainment apps. These summaries were found to be misleading at times. However, the feature will return in the future, and users will have the option to opt back in if they wish.
To make notifications clearer, Apple Intelligence now displays summaries in italicized text. Users can easily manage these notifications from the Lock Screen. By swiping on a notification and selecting “Options,” they can adjust settings or turn off summaries for specific apps.
The Calculator app also gets a practical improvement. If you press the equals sign repeatedly, the app will now repeat the last calculation. Apple has also fixed a bug where the keyboard disappeared during typed Siri requests. Another issue, where music playback continued even after closing the Apple Music app, has been resolved.
A key change in iOS 18.3 focuses on how Apple Intelligence activates. For new users and those upgrading, the system enables it by default. Previously, this feature required users to opt in. This change ensures more users can access the AI features without extra steps.
To update your device, go to Settings > General > Software Update and follow the instructions.
