YouTube is testing new features for Premium subscribers. Some of these features can elevate the experience for the platform’s avid users. One of the biggest updates is 4x playback speed, making it easier to watch videos faster. This joins other new tools aimed at improving the viewing and listening experience.

A standout feature for paid users in testing is Jump Ahead. Available on web browsers, it lets users skip unnecessary scenes and go straight to key moments. This is great for those who want to bypass long intros and repetitive content.

YouTube is also improving audio quality. 256 kbps high-quality audio is now available for music and podcasts, delivering richer and clearer sound.

For Shorts fans, YouTube has introduced Smart Downloads and Picture-in-Picture Mode on iOS. Smart Downloads automatically saves Shorts for offline viewing, while Picture-in-Picture lets users watch Shorts while multitasking.

However, some users worry about Smart Downloads for Shorts filling up phone storage. YouTube may refine this based on feedback.
