Samsung’s latest update, One UI 7.0, is based on Android 15. It brings many new features to Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Some of these have been covered in articles and videos. However, more hidden features are still being discovered. One of them is an upgrade to parental controls. This helps parents protect their children better online.
Improved Parental Controls in One UI 7.0
A new Content Restrictions option is now available in Digital Wellbeing and Parental Controls. This was first spotted by Mishaal Rahman on Android Authority. It was missing in One UI 6.0, which was based on Android 14. The update introduces better tools for filtering web content and managing app downloads.

Two Key Features
The new parental controls focus on two key areas:
- Web Content Filtering
- App and Game Age Ratings
These features help parents block explicit websites and limit app downloads for children.

Safer Web Browsing with Content Filtering
So, the Web Content option blocks explicit websites in Samsung Internet. It helps prevent access to sexually explicit and violent content. Samsung warns that “No filter is perfect, but we’ll try to block sexually explicit and violent sites.” While not foolproof, this feature adds an extra layer of protection for young users.
Age Restrictions for Apps and Games
Parents can now set age limits for apps and games on the Galaxy Store. There are five options:
- Based on Age in Samsung Account – Uses the child’s Samsung account details.
- All Ages – Allows all apps and games.
- 12+ – Blocks content unsuitable for children under 12.
- 16+ – Restricts content for users under 16.
- 18+ – Blocks all adult-rated apps and games.
Also, this feature ensures children can only access age-appropriate applications.
Will These Features Be Available on Other Devices?
Additionally, currently, these parental controls are available on the Galaxy S25 with One UI 7.0. Samsung has yet to roll out the stable version of the update to other devices. However, based on past trends, it is likely that more Galaxy devices will receive these features soon.
Final Thoughts
So, online safety is a growing concern. Samsung’s improved parental controls help address these worries. With web filtering and app age restrictions, parents can create a safer digital environment for their children. Though not perfect, these tools make a big difference. As Samsung rolls out One UI 7.0 to more devices, these features will become widely available. Until then, Galaxy users can look forward to better digital safety controls in the near future.
