Nothing has officially introduced its latest mid-range smartphones, the Nothing Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro, at MWC 2025. While both models share core specifications, the Pro version packs enhanced cameras, refined design elements, and additional features.
Nothing Phone (3a) Pro: The Standout Mid-Ranger
The Nothing Phone (3a) Pro features a 6.77-inch OLED display, safeguarded by Panda Glass. The screen delivers 1,300 nits brightness in outdoor conditions, supports a 120Hz refresh rate, and offers 10-bit color depth for superior visuals. Under the hood, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset powers the device, available in 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, and 12GB/256GB configurations, depending on the region.
Camera Excellence
Nothing places a strong emphasis on camera performance. The primary camera boasts a 50MP, 1/1.56″ sensor with an f/1.88 aperture and OIS for steady shots. Complementing it is a 50MP periscope telephoto lens (1/1.95″, f/2.55) with 3x optical zoom, extendable to 6x via the TrueLens 3.0 AI engine. An 8MP ultrawide sensor completes the rear camera setup. For selfies, there’s a 50MP front camera (1/2.76″, f/2.2).
Battery & Other Features
The device houses a 5,000 mAh battery with 50W fast charging, reaching 50% charge in just 19 minutes. The signature Nothing Glyph interface remains a key design element, providing LED-based notifications. The Essential Key, located under the power button, streamlines content sharing via Essential Space. Additionally, the device carries an IP64 rating for water and dust resistance.
The Nothing Phone (3a) Pro will receive three major OS updates and six years of security patches, starting with NothingOS 3.1 (based on Android 15).
Pricing & Availability
The global model (12GB/256GB) is priced at £449 / $459 / €459 / INR 33,999, while the Indian market gets two additional options: 8GB/128GB (£29,999) and 8GB/256GB (£31,999). Color choices include Grey and Black. Pre-orders open on March 11.
Nothing Phone (3a): A Well-Balanced Alternative
The standard Nothing Phone (3a) retains many Pro model features, including the 6.77-inch OLED display, Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, and up to 12GB/256GB memory.
Camera & Design Differences
The main 50MP f/1.88 camera remains, but the periscope telephoto lens is replaced by a 50MP (1/2.74″, f/2.0) 2x zoom camera. The 8MP ultrawide camera is still present, but the front camera is downgraded to 32MP f/2.2.
Battery & Software
Battery capacity and 50W fast charging remain identical. The IP64 rating, Essential Key, and long-term software support also carry over from the Pro version.
Pricing & Availability
Global memory configurations include 8GB/128GB (£329 / €329 / INR 24,999) and 12GB/256GB (£379 / $379 / €379). India gets an additional 8GB/256GB variant at INR 26,999.
