CEO Pete Lau announced that OnePlus will introduce a “smarter, customizable button.” This button will offer more flexibility, letting users personalize their phone experience. OnePlus is following Apple’s lead, as the new button is similar to the Action Button on the iPhone 15 and 16 Pro models.
Despite the change, OnePlus assures users that they can still switch between sound modes without unlocking their phones. However, the new button will do much more. Users will be able to assign different actions to it, such as turning on the flashlight, launching apps, or taking screenshots. Reports suggest that Oppo and Realme will also introduce this button in future flagship models.
Placement and Usability Concerns
