Samsung has started rolling out a new firmware update for the Galaxy S25 series in Europe. This marks the second software update since the series launched. The latest update brings the March 2025 security patch and focuses on security enhancements rather than introducing new features. The update arrives with firmware version S931BXXS1AYC2. It has a download size of approximately 573 MB on the standard Galaxy S25.

While Samsung had already released the March security patch for older models at the beginning of the month, the Galaxy S25 lineup lagged. With this rollout, the flagship series is now aligned with previous Samsung devices regarding security updates.
Gradual rollout across more regions
Samsung initially released this firmware in South Korea before expanding it to Europe. The update is expected to reach additional regions in the coming days. This would ensure that global users of the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra receive the latest security improvements.
To check for the update, users can navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install on their devices. This is an OTA update thus it may take some time to reach all users, depending on the region and carrier.
Unlike previous updates which sometimes include performance optimizations or new features, this latest firmware is purely a security-focused release. The Galaxy S25 series launched with Android 15 and One UI 7. This means that it already comes with Samsung’s latest software enhancements.
Galaxy S25 series update history
Since the launch of the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung has issued two firmware updates. The first update primarily addressed initial bug fixes and performance tweaks, while the latest focuses on security. Regular updates are expected throughout the year, with major One UI updates likely in the future. With the March update now rolling out, the Galaxy S25 lineup is back on track with Samsung’s usual update schedule. Users can expect monthly security patches and long-term software support, ensuring the flagship devices remain secure and up to date.
