So, Samsung just dropped a two-minute video, basically teasing their big One UI 7 update. They’re all “get ready,” and showing off some of the cool stuff coming our way. They’re kind of using it to nudge people towards the new Galaxy S25, but they’re also letting us know that One UI 7 is about to hit the Galaxy S24 and older phones. Finally! We’ve only seen it in beta until now.
Samsung’s saying One UI 7 is gonna be way more “you” than ever before. Like, more personal, easier to use, and just… natural. They’re showing off things like “Now Brief,” “Now Bar,” Google’s Gemini, “Sketch to Image,” and some AI-powered search stuff.
Samsung’s teaser video hints at some One UI 7 features
Now, this video? It’s just a teaser. It’s not showing us everything. But the timing is pretty interesting. They’re clearly gearing up for a full release. Here’s the weird part: last week, they said the update was dropping for the S24, Z Flip 6, and Z Fold 6 in some places starting April 7th, 10th, and 14th. But then they pulled back that April 10th date for the US, which made them look a bit… unsure.
Basically, Samsung’s getting us hyped for One UI 7, but they’re being a little cagey about the exact release. We’ll just have to wait and see when it actually lands. Before that however, you can check if your Samsung Galaxy phone might be compatible with seamless updates feature – those updates that install while you’re still using your phone, so you don’t have to sit around waiting for it to restart for ages – that the company just confirmed.
According to the company, if your Galaxy phone came out before 2025, chances are, it doesn’t support seamless updates. The Galaxy A55 is a weird exception. But anything from 2025 onwards? It should have it.
