The Poco F7 Pro has officially arrived, bringing Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 power, a 6,000mAh battery, and an AMOLED 120Hz display at a price that undercuts many flagship rivals. While it doesn’t claim the top spot in Poco’s lineup—that honor belongs to the F7 Ultra—the F7 Pro delivers impressive hardware that puts it in serious contention for one of the best mid-range phones of 2025.
Big Battery, Fast Charging
So, what’s the deal? Well, Poco’s thrown in last year’s top-dog chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. That alone makes it pretty interesting. Then you’ve got up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Basically, it’s got the guts to handle just about anything you throw at it.
Now, here’s the kicker: it’s basically a Redmi K80, but with a slightly smaller 6,000 mAh battery. Still, that’s a massive battery, and it charges at a blazing 90W. They’ve even thrown in their own Surge G1 and P3 chips to manage the battery and charging, which is a nice touch.
Sharp, Smooth, and Protected Display
You’re looking at a 6.67-inch AMOLED display, which is pretty standard fare these days. It’s got FHD+ resolution, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and it gets seriously bright, up to 1,800 nits. They’ve also stuck an ultrasonic fingerprint reader under the screen, and it’s protected by Gorilla Glass 7i.
And just like the F7 Ultra, it’s got that VisionBoost D7 chip. Apparently, it helps with upscaling and keeping frame rates stable during gaming and streaming. So, if you’re into that kind of thing, it’s a plus.
Camera Setup: Simple But Effective
For the cameras, you’ve got a 50MP main shooter with OIS, which should handle most situations pretty well. Then there’s an 8MP ultrawide, and a 20MP selfie cam. Nothing groundbreaking, but solid.
Software, Longevity & Durability
Software-wise, it’s running Xiaomi HyperOS 2, based on Android 15. They’re promising 4 years of Android updates and 6 years of security patches, which is pretty good. And, just like the Ultra, it’s got IP68 water and dust resistance.
It comes in black, silver, and blue, and the prices are pretty competitive. We’re talking $499 for the 12/256GB model, and $549 for the 12/512GB. And they’re even throwing in an early-bird discount if you order before April 10.
- 4 years of Android updates – no worries about outdated software
- 6 years of security patches – extended protection for your data
- IP68 water & dust resistance – built to handle the elements
Honestly, it feels like Poco’s trying to hit that sweet spot. You know, powerful enough to handle anything, but without the crazy price tag of a true flagship. It’s definitely worth a look if you’re in the market for a solid upper mid-range phone.
