Motorola’s Edge 60, Edge 60 Pro Arrive with Big Batteries and Durable Build


Motorola’s day isn’t over with the launch of the new foldable RAZR series. The company also took the wraps off its high-end lineup Motorola Edge series. The new upgrades come in the form of the Motorola Edge 60 and the Motorola Edge 60 Pro. The new devices come with quad-curved displays, big batteries, and stunning design with Pantone-curated colors and textured backings.

Motorola Edge 60 and 60 Pro Specifications

Both the Motorola Edge 60 and 60 Pro feature the same 6.7-inch Quad-Curved p-OLED screen. According to Motorola, this is the brightest yet at 4,500 nits. The screen has 2,712 x 1,220 pixels of resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. It has a 120 Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and a pleasant experience.

Both phones also feature a triple-camera system on the back, with the same 50 MP 1/1.56-inch Sony Lytia LYT-700C main shooter. There is also a 50 MP f/2.0 ultrawide snapper with PDAF, a 73mm 10 MP camera with 3x zoom and up to 50x Super Zoom. Finally, we have a 50 MP f/2.0 selfie camera.

The duo also shares the enhanced durability and some level of ruggedness. Both devices come with IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust protection. They also share the MIL-ST-810H certification for extreme temperatures, 95% humidity, high altitudes, and drops from up to 1.5 meters.

The Motorola Edge 60 Pro can be had in three finishes, each with a different feel. Pantone Shadow has a leather-like backing, Pantone Dazzling Blue comes with a nylon-inspired textured finish, while Pantone Sparkling Grape has a sandpaper-esque rear.

MediaTek Dimensity Chips on Both Smartphones

The Edge 60 Pro comes with a 4nm Dimensity 8350 SoC paired with either 8 GB or 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM. You can have 256 GB or 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The Motorola Edge 60 has a Dimensity 7300 SoC with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of built-in storage. Unlike the Pro, the Edge 60 also offers a microSD card slot for further storage expansion.

The Motorola Edge 60 Pro sports a huge 6,000 mAh battery which is a significant increase over the 4,500 mAh from its predecessor. It supports 90W TurboPower wired and 15W wireless charging. The vanilla 60 comes in two versions. One has a 5,200 mAh Battery and the other has a 5,500 mAh battery. Both come with 68W TurboPower wired charging.

Motorola brings its enhanced Moto AI to the Edge 60 series. Next Move recognizes what is on your screen (read a recipe, create a music playlist, add a calendar music). On the Imaging Side, Motorola introduces a Photo Enhancement Engine to fine-tune details. It enhances colors, reduces noise, and delivers optimized images. Pantone doesn’t end with the phone’s physical appearance. You have Pantone Validated SkinTone for the people shots. The display is also Pantone Validated, and the phone’s stereo speakers have Dolby Atmos.

The Motorola Edge 60 comes in a nylon-like Pantone Gibraltar Sea, a leather-like Pantone Shamrock, and a sandpaper-like Pantone Plum Perfect.

Pricing and Availability

The Motorola Edge 60 is priced at £380 (USD 506 / Rs. 43,175 approx.) for the 12+512GB model. The Motorola edge 60 Pro comes in Sparkling Grape, Shadow Green and Dazzling Blue colours and is priced at £599.99 (USD 799 / Rs. 68,170 approx.) for the 12+512GB model.

The Motorola Edge 60 series will be available across select countries in Asia, Europe, Latin America, and Oceania. Note that these models are not launching in the US. The phones will also ship with their respective 90W and 68W chargers in some markets. They are already available in the UK, and other markets will follow suit.
